Look mom, no kittens!
These pages have traditionally be lacking in the sense that I don’t have a heart for pets and thus cannot offer regular postings of cat photos here. Even though I consider cats to be animals of the more tolerable kind because they seem to be smarter than dogs or horses, say. Speaking about horses, I usually think about sausages or other such niceties when they are mentioned and thus it was surprising to me that I took a photo of one in a recent stroll through a perfectly sunny and warm January afternoon. I had taken my various cameras for a walk and also had the 500mm tele with me which gave me a good close up of the animal.
Interestingly, in the blurred background – boke(h) if you wish, although the internet seems to be full of heated discussions of what does and doesn’t qualify – clearly shows the little ‘doughnut shaped’ circles that give away my tele is a mirror lens. The technical zealot would call that ‘bad’ or ‘ugly’ boke I guess as it is a bit distracting. But this does tempt me to try and use that ‘weakness’ of the lens for something cool.
